Quality Does Make A Difference

You’ve heard it before, “you get what you pay for!” Take a look at the two pictures below. Can you spot the difference?

Black door damaged by sun Black Door not affected by sun

Can you spot the damage on the door that came from a “big box” retailer? This steel entry door is less than 10 years old. As you can see, it’s warped.  Because big box retailer doors are typically made with 24-gauge  or 26-gauge steel they do not hold up well to direct sun light.  This door gets afternoon sun and it shows.  The color black compounds the problem.  If you want to avoid this problem in the future, especially if you are partial to the color black, buy one of our 20 gauge steel doors!  A 20-gauge steel door gives you 49% more galvanized steel than a 24-gauge door.  That’s a big difference!!!
