I have a lot of folks ask about how to best protect their home from unwanted “visitors.” If security is a concern, I recommend security doors and in most cases window guards too. Usually it’s the windows in the back of the house because they can’t be seen from the street. Basement windows are also a good place for guards because they are at foot level and unfortunately it’s not difficult to kick them in.
But what if there is a catastrophe like fire you ask? Windows guards can be made with a hinge and lock. This means that the window guard can be opened from the inside with a key in case of emergency, even a Spring window cleaning emergency.
At Iron Crafters our window guards are custom made for the window out of 16 gauge steel. It’s also interesting to note that they can be mounted on the inside or the outside of the window. There are many window guard styles in a host of different colors to choose from. Give us a call for some security peace of mind today!
